Weircliffe International Ltd--- 2007
1964 - 2007 A SNAP SHOT

July 1 2006 Saw the introduction of the RoHS directive in which the
content of several chemicals was restricted from use in new electrical
equipment, this included Chromium 6 [Cr6] used within the steel
industry. Steel laminations forming the core of a degausser must therefore
comply.
The Manufacturer of the final product being responsible for testing incoming
material per batch, for compliance. Sadly no method has been found
which could assure compliance, without significant cost penalties.
September 2006 CESG issued an amendment [version 1]
to HMG INFOSEC STANDARD 5 cancelling those previous.
Weircliffe - will not participate in CESG evaluations, for existing product.
